Chris Pratt Will Reprise His Role as Star-Lord in THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER
Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder is adding Chris Pratt to the cast, and he will be reprising his role as Star-Lord in the film!
Pratt will join Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Natalie Portman reprising the role of Jane Foster, who will also become Thor, Tessa Thompson returning as Valkyrie and ruler of Asgard, and Christian Bale taking on the role of a mysterious villain. Taika Waititi is directing and will also once again be voicing Korg.
It’s really not surprising to learn that Star-Lord will be in the film as he was last seen in Avengers: Endgame having his ego amusingly threatened by Thor, who had joined the Guardians of the Galaxy on their ship for unknown galactic adventures.
One of the things I’m most excited about for this movie is that Jane Foster will take on the mantle of Thor. The Jane Foster Thor storyline is based on Jason Aaron’s comic book run on The Mighty Thor, the story of which follows a cancer-stricken Jane Foster as she takes up the mantle and powers of Thor. According to Portman, this storyline will be a part of the film, saying:
"I can’t tell you that much. I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is. I’m trying to think — it’s based on the graphic novel of The Mighty Thor. She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side."
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently set to arrive in theaters on February 11th, 2022.
