Christopher Nolan is Weighing Two Options For His Next Film Project
Christopher Nolan is on a high right now after Oppenheimer won Best Director and Best Picture at the 2024 Oscars. Now, with that chapter in his career coming to a close, fans are curious about seeing what the filmmaker does next.
According to a report from Variety, Nolan is currently weighing two options for his next movie. One of those projects is a remake of The Prisoner, Patrick McGoohan’s mystery-thriller TV series from the 1960s. This is a project that Nolan was actually attached to back in 2009, but it never moved forward. Later that year, The Prisoner was developed as a series at AMC, but Nolan wasn’t involved with it.
There’s no information on what the second film project might be, whatever he’s doing next, it was mentioned in the Puck newsletter that Nolan has started writing his next film. So, whether its The Prisoner or something else, Nolan knows what he wants to do and he’s off to the races!
It’s also reported that Nolan’s final payday for Oppenheimer “is just south of $100 million.” That huge number takes into account “salary, backend compensation, box-office escalators, and a bonus for his twin Academy Awards.”
When previously talking about his next film, Nolan said, “There’s part of me that’s quite keen to move on and maybe do something, you know, not quite as bleak.” So maybe this next film will be more of a fun film. We’ll just have to wait and see.
What kind of movie would you like to see Nolan make next?
