Clint Eastwood Finds His Star in BLACKKKLANSMAN Actor Paul Walter Hauser for THE BALLAD OF RICHARD JEWELL
We reported earlier this week that the Clint Eastwood directed film The Ballad of Richard Jewell had cast Sam Rockwell in the role of the attorney who will represent the film’s wrongly accused Richard Jewell. We now have word that the lead role of Jewell has been cast as well, and Eastwood has hired Paul Walter Hauser, who we’ve seen in just about everything recently, including I, Tonya, BlacKKKlansman, Cobra Kai, and Late Night. He is a good actor, and I think he will do well in the role.
The movie will follow the true life story of Richard Jewell, “the security guard whose life was turned upside down after it was leaked by law enforcement to a reporter that he was a possible suspect in the Olympic Park bombing during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.”
Apparently at one point, Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio were attached to play the lead roles, but are still attached to the project as producers. I am interested in this film, and I think the men currently hired will do a great job. It is sounding promising as the info continues to develop.
