Cool New Teaser Trailer for Toho's Live-Action SHIN ULTRAMAN Movie

Toho Pictures has released a new teaser trailer for its live-action film Shin Ultraman, which is a modern reimagining of the classic '60s character from Japan. The movie comes from the Shin Godzilla filmmaking team of Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi and they are looking to build a shared universe with these iconic Japanese characters which is called the Shin Japan Heroes Universe.

The universe will bring together Godzilla, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and robot anime Evangelion. Shin Ultraman will be the second film in this series, and it looks like it’s going to be awesome!

The trailer features Ultraman facing off with Gabora, Neronga, and there’s also a crazy-looking robot that I don’t recognize. I loved Shin Godzilla, and Shin Ultraman looks like it’s going to be just as good! I can’t wait to see it!

In the film, “An alien is out for justice and pursues a rogue criminal to a planet called Earth. To atone for his deeds he leaves the power and transforms a human into a hero for good and Earthly protection. Thus the Ultra Man is born as fashioned after the original early 1960s televisions serial that was on many Japanese households' TVs.

The movie stars Takumi Saitoh, Masami Nagasawa and Hidetoshi Nishijima and Toho Pictures will release the film in Japan on May 13th, 2022. There’s currently no release date for the US.
