Costumes for STAR WARS: AHSOKA Season 2 Tease New Looks for Anakin, Ahsoka, and More
We’re finally getting a closer look at what Lucasfilm has been cooking up for Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2, and some of the coolest teases aren’t coming from footage. They’re hanging on display at D23.
Disney’s massive biannual fan event has returned to the Anaheim Convention Center, bringing three days of panels, merchandise, exhibits, props, costumes, and previews from across the company’s biggest franchises.
Lucasfilm has taken advantage of its pavilion space to show off several new Ahsoka Season 2 costumes, including updated designs for Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Anakin Skywalker.
The Anakin costume is probably the most interesting of the bunch. Hayden Christensen is returning as Anakin Skywalker, and his Season 2 outfit includes a heavy, fur-lined coat inspired by the character’s cold-weather gear from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
That’s a pretty specific wardrobe choice, and it points toward the series revisiting the Clone Wars era in live-action. A flashback seems like the obvious possibility, especially after Season 1 gave fans a taste of Christensen playing Anakin alongside a younger Ahsoka during the Clone Wars.
If that’s where this is going, it could give the series another chance to bring pieces of the animated era into live-action, and seeing Christensen suited up in this particular Anakin costume should be awesome.
Anakin isn’t the only character getting some new threads. Rosario Dawson will once again play Ahsoka Tano, and her costume builds on the white robes she adopted near the end of the first season.
It appears to be more of a refinement than a completely different outfit, so the series probably won’t treat it as some major wardrobe change within the story. Still, the alterations show that the costume department had room to continue developing Ahsoka’s look for Season 2.
Then there’s Sabine Wren, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and her upgraded Mandalorian armor is pretty awesome.
Sabine’s armor features additional hand-painted artwork across its plates, bringing more of the character’s artistic personality into her live-action appearance. That aspect of Sabine was much more pronounced in Star Wars Rebels, where her love of color, graffiti, and visual expression was baked into her identity.
Some fans felt the first season of Ahsoka didn’t make enough use of that side of her, so seeing it reflected more prominently in her Season 2 armor is a nice touch.
Ahsoka Season 2 finished principal photography in October 2025 and has spent well over a year in post-production ahead of its planned early 2027 debut. But once the season completes its run, Lucasfilm currently has no other confirmed live-action Star Wars series lined up to enter production.
Hopefully D23 gives us a better idea of what Lucasfilm has planned. For now, though, the new Ahsoka Season 2 costumes give fans something fun to see.
Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in early 2027.
