CREATURE COMMANDOS Stars Frank Grillo and Maria Bakalova Re-Team For Sci-Fi Survival Thriller OVERRIDE
Frank Grillo (Peacemaker, Tulsa King) and Maria Bakalova (The Apprentice, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) are joining forces for the upcoming sci-fi survival thriller Override, a high-stakes, futuristic story that promises intense action and emotional grit.
The two previously starred together in James Gunn’s DC animated series Creature Commandos, so it’s cool to see them working together again.
Override is directed and co-written by Jordan Downey (The Head Hunter, The Cycle), alongside writers Jackson Murray and Kevin Stewart.
The movie centers on a futuristic soldier, played by Bakalova, who is left for dead on the battlefield. Her only hope for survival comes in the form of a synthetic angel, portrayed by Grillo — a piece of cutting-edge battlefield A.I. who must help her defy the odds and fight against time to stay alive.
Production is currently underway in Belfast, with the film set to be introduced at the American Film Market by Capture, the newly launched sales company formed as a joint venture between Capstone Global and Signature Entertainment.
Override is produced by James Harris of Tea Shop Productions, the team behind thrillers like Fall, Obsession, and 47 Meters Down, alongside Michael Downey (The Big Ugly, The Swallow).
With Grillo and Bakalova leading the charge, Override could be a slick, adrenaline-fueled survival story that blends human resilience with sci-fi intensity.
