Creepy New Jump Scare Clip from the Film Adaptation of UNTIL DAWN
Sony Pictures has released a great new trailer for director David F. Sandberg’s film adaptation of the horror game Until Dawn, and there’s a jump scare in it waiting for you.
The movie comes from the director of Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, and as a fan of the game, I’ve been looking forward to this! It looks like it’s going to deliver a fun and creepy time at the movies!
The story sees the young characters being brutally killed only to come back to try to survive all over again, and they have to continue to survive until dawn.It was previously explained that every time a character comes back to life, it’s like they enter a whole new horror genre.
In the story, “One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers.
“Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening.
“Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again - only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last.
“Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.”
Sandberg previously said of the film: “I’ve been longing to do horror again. This film explores the many great subgenres of horror to create the most terrifying experience possible.
“Capturing the essence of the game but with new characters, it serves as a great stand-alone introduction to the world for the newcomer as well as offers something new that the fans of the game will enjoy.”
The cast of the film includes Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (Never Have I Ever), Ji-young Yoo (Expats), Odessa A’zion (Hellraiser), Peter Stormare, Maia Mitchell and Belmont Cameli.
The movie was written by Blair Butler (The Invitation) with contributions from Gary Dauberman (Salem’s Lot).
The film is described as “an R-rated love letter to the horror genre,” and it will be released on April 25th.
