Crunchyroll and WEBTOON are Partnering Up for More Animated Content
WEBTOON has been busy. They recently announced a deal to create an animated series on the extremely popular comic Lore Olympus and now, they’ve partnered with Crunchyroll to create more animated content. Unfortunately, no other details have been revealed about what the series will be. There are a couple of comics that I think could be a lot of fun to watch as a series, but I don’t think they’ll make the cut quite yet. Taylor Grant of WEBTOON released the following statement about the partnership:
“There is tremendous crossover appeal with our audiences and exceptional creative synergy on the types of stories we want to tell. We’re excited to partner with Crunchyroll to bring our globally appealing characters to audiences and consumers in new ways, as well as create new opportunities for our talented creators.”
Crunchyroll’s Joanne Waage said the following:
“We are extremely excited to be partnering with WEBTOONs. WEBTOONs has a tremendous catalogue of content and creators that resonate deeply with our audience and we can’t think of a better way to delight fans than by bringing these stories to life through animation.”
What do you hope comes from this new partnership?
