Dan Fogler Added to J.K. Rowling's FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

After being rumored for a role in J.K Rowling's upcoming Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, actor Dan Fogler has reportedly secured the part of Jacob, a "non-magical person" who meets up with Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in New York during Newt's stateside adventure.

Interestingly, this report says that Newt befriends Jacob, while the initial description of the character called the two character "rivals." So which one is it? I suppose we'll have to wait until November 18th, 2016 to find out.

Fogler, who you may recognize from Fanboys, joins Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, and Ezra Miller in director David Yates' film, which is set in the same universe as the Harry Potter movies but takes place seventy years before Harry and his friends head to Hogwarts. The project marks Rowling's first screenwriting credit, and should be a boon for Warner Bros., who has been looking for a major franchise to milk since the eight Potter movies pulled in over $7 billion at the box office. Will it actually be a good, enjoyable film? That question remains, but at least they're filling the cast with decent actors so far.
