DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 3 Will Shake Things Up With New Villains After Years of Kingpin

After spending years watching Wilson Fisk dominate the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, it looks like Daredevil: Born Again is finally ready to mix things up in a big way.

With Season 2 about to wrap, new details about Season 3 suggest the series is heading into new territory, and that means new threats are on the horizon for the Man Without Fear.

For fans who’ve followed the journey from the Daredevil days through the current Disney+ revival, Fisk has been the gravitational center of the story. Played by Vincent D'Onofrio, the Kingpin has loomed large across multiple seasons. But according to showrunner Dario Scardapane, that era is starting to fade, opening the door for something new.

Scardapane teased that the series isn’t just swapping out one big bad for another. Instead, it’s leaning into a more unpredictable approach to its characters:

"The idea of heroes and villains in our story… Somebody that you may see can evolve into something unexpected… The idea of introducing characters that we know, Bullseye being one of them, and playing around with, 'Should we be rooting for this guy? Wait a second, we can't do that. He killed Foggy.’

"So yeah, I mean, everything's on the table. I think that fan expectations get… I love reading theories. They tend to far outstrip our abilities. But yeah, we've got a few more people heading your way."

Familiar faces like Bullseye aren’t just returning as straightforward villains. The show seems interested in blurring the lines, making viewers question who they’re supposed to root for, even when those characters have done unforgivable things like killing Foggy Nelson.

At the same time, the biggest shift might come from stepping away from Fisk’s political power. After his time as mayor, Season 3 will reportedly reposition him, dialing back his dominance in the narrative. That opens up space for new antagonists to rise and for Hell’s Kitchen to feel dangerous in a different way.

Star Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock, teased what’s ahead, saying: "It feels like we've shed the skin of the Mayor Fisk era. It feels like it's a new book, a new dawn a little bit. It's still a continuation, obviously, but it's slightly different. I can't give anything away, but it's a new thing, which is fun."

That “new dawn” comment is interesting because it suggests the show isn’t just escalating stakes, it’s rethinking its identity. After essentially five seasons of Fisk being the central force, including the original run, shifting focus could give the series a fresh energy it needs to keep evolving.

With Season 2 wrapping up next week, fans won’t have to wait long to start speculating about who these new villains might be and how they’ll challenge Daredevil in ways Fisk never did.

One thing’s clear: Hell’s Kitchen isn’t getting any safer. It’s just getting more unpredictable.
