Dave Bautista Has Been Pursuing The Lead Role In The GEARS OF WAR Movie
Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista has recently revealed that he's been pursuing the lead role of Marcus Fenix in the live-action adaptation of the hit video game Gears of War for years. He says that this is a dream role for him, and you know what? Why in the hell wouldn't the studio and creative team want to cast him!? He's absolutely perfect for the role.

Last year it was announced that the Gears of War movie was moving forward with Avatar sequel screenwriter Shane Salerno. Gears of War co-creator Rod Fergusson previously talked about the film saying that it "would not be based on any particular game but instead be a new story set in the universe. That universe is the fictional planet of Sera, where a squad of beefed-up commandos living in a bombed-out postapocalyptic society battle swarms of alien creatures called Locusts."
The film is obviously still in the early stages of development, but when the studio does decide to move it into production, I hope that they cast Bautista in the lead role. Not only has he become popular in the fan community, he's also a solid actor with the perfect look for the character.
His most recent film, Hotel Artemis is currently out in theaters. That's a really good film, by the way, and Bautista gave a great performance.
