David Ayer Shares Unseen Clip From SUICIDE SQUAD Featuring Jared Leto's Joker

David Ayer has shared a clip featuring some unseen footage that he shot for Suicide Squad involving Jared Leto’s Joker. This is a brief clip and it never made it into the final cut of the film.

In the clip, half of Joker’s face appears to be burnt and he says, “you should be ashamed of yourself.” This scene was teased in one of the trailers for the film.

There’s a lot of footage that Ayer shot that never made it into the movie and like Zack Snyder, he would like the opportunity to share his true vision for Suicide Squad one day.

When previously talking about the film, Ayer said: “My cut would be easy to complete. It would be incredibly cathartic for me. It’s exhausting getting your ass kicked for a film that got the Edward Scissorhands treatment. The film I made has never been seen.”

The original cut of the film included “a lot more Joker including a big fight with him in the subway.” It was also explained that the beginning of the film “wasn’t edited like a music video, as all of the flashbacks happened in chronological order.” One of the most important aspects of his original cut was that there was “a very different and clear tone to the Joker and Harley’s relationship, which actually fits better with the opening of Birds of Prey.”

Jared Leto’s Joker will be seen again in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which will hit HBO Max sometime this year.
