David Dastmalchian Will Be Playing a Different Character in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA
David Dastmalchian made his big Marvel debut in the first Ant-Man movie in the role of Kurt, a Russian ex-con in Scott Lang’s security crew. Dastmalchian later reprised the role in the sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and he will return for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania… but, he will be playing a completely different character.
According to Marvel’s website, Dastmalchian will not play Kurt in the film, instead, he will play a new character named Veb. There are no other details given regarding the character other than the name. It’s interesting that Dastmalchian has been recast in another role, and while there are no details on this new character he’s playing, I wonder if it will be a CGI creature or alien-type character. We’ll eventually find out!
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania officially kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and in it “Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.”
Jonathan Majors will be taking on the role of Kang, and he’s going to be quite sinister. Kathryn Newton will take on the role of Cassie Lang, and Bill Murray also has a role in the movie!
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is once again being directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness. The action-comedy superhero sequel will release on February 17, 2023.
