DC's Intergalactic Bounty Hunter Lobo is Coming to KRYPTON!
During the Comic-Con Panel for the Syfy series Krypton, DC Entertainment announced that the intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo would be coming to the series and that he will be the big bad villain for the upcoming season! They still have yet to cast an actor in the role, but this is certainly going to make the series a lot more interesting. It was definitely a surprise announcement that I wasn't expecting.
It looks like I'm going to have to finally finish watching Season 1. This has been a decent series, it just one of those series that I'm slowly making my way through.
Lobo is a blue-skinned, 7-foot-tall, heavily muscled anti-hero alien who works as an interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter and drives a space-faring motorcycle across the universe. He was created in 1984 by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen.
DC Entertainment is also looking to make a movie set around the character and they've been looking at Michael Bay a possible director. Maybe putting Lobo in Krypton is a way for them to test the waters and see how he's received by audiences.
Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The Seg-El name is both a nod to Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel and a reference to John Byrne’s 1980s miniseries, “The World of Krypton.” Cameron Cuffe is set to play Seg-El along with Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod.
Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.
Krypton is set to return in 2019.
