D&D's FORGOTTEN REALMS LAERAL SILVERHAND'S EXPLORER'S KIT is Beautiful and Useful

The new Forgotten Realms Laeral Silverhand's Explorer's Kit is a real treat. It gives Dungeons & Dragons players and DMs 11 dice, a nice felt-lined box for rolling, and some cards full of lore. Plus, a map of the Sword Coast which is always handy. Wizards of the Coast was kind enough to send me a set and it’s great.

First, the dice are very pretty. The blue coloring with silver ink looks fantastic together. The weird thing is how big some of the dice are. The 2d20 that you get are huge! In addition, the 4d6 you receive are slightly bigger than usual. The six-sided dice are the same size as those from the Baldur’s Gate set, but I’m very confused as to the oversized 20-sided dice. All the other dice are standard sizes which really adds to the mystery for me.

The box is beautiful. It may not be the sturdiest material (feels like strong cardboard), but it’s also not as expensive as other dice boxes and will work perfectly well for the majority of people. The artwork on the box is stunning as well.

The lore cards have some great artwork and are perfect for anyone wanting to dive a little deeper into the lore behind Dungeons & Dragons. There are cards for Icewind Dale and Baldur’s Gate as well as Laeral Silverhand, the Harpers, Drizzt Do’urden, and much more.

This Explorer’s Kit is pretty fantastic and is available from local game stores and Amazon for $24.95.
