DEADPOOL Actress Gina Carano Joins Jon Favreau's THE MANDALORIAN

We’ve got another big piece of casting news to share with you regarding Lucasfilm’s live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian. According to Variety, former MMA star Gina Carano has been cast in the series.

Carano, who has also starred in films such as Deadpool, Haywire, Fast & Furious 6, and more, will join Pedro Pascal in the series along with Carl Weathers (Rocky, Predator), who is also reportedly set to be in the show.

The series is being written and produced by Jon Favreau and the story is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order and it follows “a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The episodes will be directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). 

It’s also said that Howard will be in the series that Waititi will provide the voice of a droid character.

The series will premiere on Disney+ but there’s no release date yet. What do you think of Carano joining the series?
