Deadpool and Wolverine Will Reportedly Reunite To Fight Doctor Doom in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is gearing up for another powerhouse team-up with Avengers: Doomsday. According to Hollywood scooper Daniel Richtman, fan-favorite characters Deadpool and Wolverine could make their next MCU appearances in the next Avengers movie.
While Marvel hasn’t confirmed the rumor, the potential inclusion of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the 2026 blockbuster has set the internet ablaze with speculation.
In his Patreon newsletter, Richtman wrote: “I hear Deadpool and Wolverine will have a role in Doomsday.” While he offered no further details, the thought of Deadpool and Wolverine joining forces with the Avengers team is sure to get fans excited.
If this is true you can bet that we’ll see Deadpool and Wolverine battle Doctor Doom alongside several other Avengers! Then we can watch Doctor Doom Obliterate all of them.
It’s also not hard to imagine Deadpool making some cracks about Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom.
This isn’t the first time fans have speculated about the duo’s future in the MCU. When previously asked about returning to the MCU as Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds said:
“I’m not even being cagey. We’ll see what happens there.” In an earlier conversation he expressed trust in Marvel’s leadership, stating, “Deadpool works so well appearing with the X-Men and Avengers.”
Reynolds also said: Reynolds said: “I see Deadpool as a supporting character much more than he is a main [character] or at the center.
“We center him sometimes because they want, that’s what they want. But you can’t center him unless you take everything away from him. You have to create a situation where he’s so much the underdog. And I don’t think I can do that again.”
The scope of Avengers: Doomsday is already enormous. The film will not only feature Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, but Chris Evans is also returning as Steve Rogers. Then there are a ton of other characters rumored to be joining, and it’ll be awesome to see them battle Doom.
If these reports hold true, Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be one of the MCU’s most ambitious entries yet, promising all the Marvel action you could ask for and plenty of fan-service moments.
