DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Producer Says Wolverine Suit Had "Grown Men Sobbing on Set"
After more than two decades of playing Wolverine, Hugh Jackman will finally wear Wolverine's classic yellow and blue suit in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman wearing the suit was one of the things that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige wanted to make sure happened. The fans are very excited about this, and apparently when Jackman came out wearing the suit during costume tests, it made grown men on the set cry.
During a recent interview with HeyUGuys, Producer Wendy Jacobson shared: "It was one of the craziest things. It was the camera test before we started shooting, and to see both of those guys in costume together was just mind-blowing.
“But Hugh walking out in the yellow and blue, there were grown men, like, sobbing on the set. So we knew it was a very special thing."
When talking about being a part of this project, she went on to say: "Honestly, it's like in my wildest dreams I never could have imagined being part of a project like this. Even if just from the auspices of being part of a project like Deadpool & Wolverine with these characters.
“And on a personal level, being able to collaborate with [Reynolds and Jackman] or try to contribute one iota. It's been the most personally gratifying experience of my entire life.
“I keep semi-joking that maybe I should retire because I just don't know what I could possibly do that will ever be as good as this again."
Deadpool & Wolverine is directed by Shawn Levy and it opens only in theaters on July 26th.
