DEXTER: RESURRECTION Season 2 Teaser Brings Dexter Morgan Back Sharper Than Ever
Dexter Morgan has his eyes on a couple of new killers, and apparently he needs a fresh pair of glasses to get the job done.
Paramount+ has released the official teaser trailer for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, offering our first twisted little taste of Michael C. Hall’s return as everyone’s favorite serial killer with a code.
The series returns Friday, October 30 on Paramount+, putting Dexter back in action just in time for Halloween. The premiere also arrives during the franchise’s 20th anniversary, two decades after audiences were first introduced to Dexter Morgan and his very specific approach to dealing with bad people.
The Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 trailer has some fun with its “sharper than ever” hook. It opens with Michael C. Hall sitting in an optical store getting his vision checked.
An optometrist asks, “Better before or better now?” as the image shifts between blurry and clear views of a white screen revealing the October 30 premiere date and the tagline, “He’s back. And sharper than ever.”
From there, things get considerably more Dexter-ish. A quick montage shows him slipping back into action, complete with glimpses of several murder weapons. The teaser wraps with Dexter putting on his new glasses, looking directly at the camera, and flashing a knowing smirk.
His eyesight might be improving, but Dexter has much bigger problems waiting for him in Season 2. This time around, Dexter finds himself hunting two dangerous killers in New York City.
One is an infamous murderer whose crimes stretch back decades, while the other is a young psychopath currently terrorizing the city. Dexter is also dealing with a midlife crisis, because apparently tracking serial killers while wrestling with your own murderous impulses isn’t enough personal baggage.
Harrison Morgan has his own path to follow. Jack Alcott returns as Dexter’s son, who remains determined to pursue his own version of justice. That relationship continues to give the story another complication as father and son try to figure out exactly who they are and what justice means to each of them.
Dexter: Resurrection continues the story established in Dexter and Dexter: New Blood, and the returning cast also includes Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar.
Season 2 adds some great new names to Dexter’s bloody corner of New York, including Dan Stevens, Bokeem Woodbine, Nona Parker Johnson, and Brian Cox. Krysten Ritter and Gabriel Luna will also appear as guest stars.
