DIABLO: HELLFIRE Now Free on GOG If You Purchase DIABLO

A few months ago, Blizzard surprised many by offering the original Diablo game through GOG. Well now, they’re surprising fans once again by giving everyone the non-canonical expansion along with the purchase of the base game. That’s right, if you buy or have bought Diablo, you will get Diablo: Hellfire for free.

“Hellfire offers a non-canonical single-player storyline where players must defeat a powerful demon named Na-Krul who is threatening Tristram. The expansion also adds a Monk class, new weapons and items, new missions, locations, dungeons, and enemies. Hellfire will be accessible while launching the original Diablo.”

Hellfire was originally developed back in 1997 by Synergistic Software, which is probably why it’s not considered canon.

To sweeten the pot even further, until June 17, Diablo is on sale for only $8.99.
