Director Chad Stahelski Says He Could Make JOHN WICK Films with Keanu Reeves for the Rest of His Career

Fans seem to be super stoked for John Wick: Chapter 3. We shared a couple new photos from the film earlier today, and I imagine it won’t be much longer before we see a trailer drop.

If the franchise continues to be a success, Lionsgate will want to keep making sequels, and director Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves seem to be perfectly fine with that. In fact, in a recent interview with EW, the director said that he and Reeves have John Wick movie ideas for days and that he could make these films for the rest of his career.

“I enjoy making these movies because there’s no limit. We create our own mythology, and we have a studio that both stays out of our way and supports us on the wacky decisions. If people go see the movie, and it makes money, and they came back to us, Keanu and I have ideas for days. I could live here for the rest of my career. If people like it and want to watch more, I could think of way worse ways to spend your career. But, you know, we’re in the entertainment business. We’ll let the audience figure that out.”

That’s great to hear! I was hoping that Chapter 3 wouldn’t be the last film in the franchise. We do have a TV series coming called The Continental that I’m looking forward to, but it would be great to see the world continue to expand on the big screen. As long as they keep making great action films, I’ll keep showing up for the ride!

John Wick: Chapter 3 starts off just after the events of Chapter 2, as Reeves's badass character tries to escape the $14 million bounty that has been put on his head. According to Stahelski:

"The first part of the film is John Wick escaping New York and trying to line up the assets he'll need to find a way out of the problem he's in.”

John Wick: Chapter 3 is set to hit theaters on May 17, 2019. Are you happy to hear that we might end up seeing more John Wick sequels in the future?
