Director Rian Johnson Seems Sure About His STAR WARS Trilogy Again

A couple weeks ago, director Rian Johnson was asked about his Star Wars project at Lucasfilm, and he explained that the studio is currently in the process of "figuring out what they're doing," and in regards to his project, he mentioned that he would "be thrilled if it happens."

He used the word “if” here, which made a lot of people think that he was unsure if his trilogy was going to actually happen. Well, this was brought up with him in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight and he said with a laugh, "Did I say 'if'? Oh god.” He went on to once again confirm that he’s still working on the project, saying:

"I'm still working with Lucasfilm on it, and they're figuring out when they do what and everything."

So, Johnson’s Star Wars trilogy is still a go! I’m personally looking forward to seeing other corners of the Star Wars universe explored and being introduced to new characters. I know not everyone is excited about this, but I do hope that whatever comes of this exceeds the expectations of fans who didn’t like The Last Jedi.
