Disney and Marvel Are Reportedly Debating Over DEADPOOL and If He Can Move Between R and PG-13 Rated Films
With Deadpool now under the Marvel and Disney banner, the studios have some hard decisions to make as they introduce him into the MCU. The big question is, do that keep Deadpool solo to main the R-rating, and if so, how do they throw him into the mix of PG-13 rated MCU films?
According to Brent Lang, this is the debate that currently underway at Marvel and Disney:
The main problem with leaving Deadpool on his own is that he will be on his own and won’t get to play with the others. You’d think the point is to be able to let him play with the other in the MCU. I’m sure that Kevin Feige (who is in control of all things Marvel) will figure it out as he continues to build on the MCU.
We already know that Fantastic Four and “Mutants” (probably X-Men related) are in development thanks to San Diego Comic-Con. Deadpool just wasn’t mentioned at the time, probably because they are still trying to figure it out.
However, does it make sense to leave Deadpool out of all of this? That’s the question that I cannot answer. Only Feige and his team can make that call.
Personally, I think Deadpool could potentially make more money if he was brought in to the MCU, but I think creatively it might be best to leave Deadpool on his own. Go ahead and sound off in the comments about how they can movie Deadpool seamlessly between his R-rated solo films the the PG-13 MCU films.
