Disney+ Announces Premiere Dates for LOKI Season 2 and ECHO
Disney+ has announced premiere dates for Loki Season 2 and the Hawkeye spinoff series Echo. Loki is set to drop its first episode on October 6, 2023, and It will then continue as a weekly series. Echo, on the other hand, will be released on November 29th, 2023, and all of the episodes for that series will be released at once, which is a first for Marvel.
As you’ve heard, Echo has reportedly gone through some big behind-the-scene issues, and at one point post-production was shut down and it was said that Marvel might even cancel the series. The fact that the show is being dumped on Disney+ all at once may show a lack of confidence in the series. I don’t know, we’ll just have to wait and see! But, I do hope that it’s good because I like the character!
In the series, "the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward."
The Echo series is being developed by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen, who are writers and executive producers on the show. The series stars Alaqua Cox, Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, Devery Jacobs, and Graham Greene.
As for Loki Season 2, the series stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Rafeael Casal, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. It was also recently announced that Ke Huy Quan (The Goonies, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Everything Anything All at Once) joined the cast!
Director Kate Herron and head writer Michael Waldron have come back to work on Loki Season 2. Moon Knight directors Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson are also set to helm episodes of the series. Eric Martin is writing all six episodes.
