Disney Moving Forward with its Live-Action TANGLED Movie as Michael Gracey is in Talks to Direct

Disney Studios is moving forward with its a live-action adaptation of Tangled and the filmmaker behind the wild looking Robbie Williams biopic Better Man, Michael Gracey, is in talks to direct.

Tangled is being described as a revival of Disney’s 2010 animated feature of the same name, and you can bet that it will tell the exact same story.

The story centers on the beautiful princess Rapunzel, who has been locked away in a tower since she was captured as a baby by an old hag.

Her magical long blonde hair has the power to provide eternal youth, and the evil Gothel uses this power to keep her young. At the age of 18, Rapunzel becomes curious about the outside world, and when a prince uses her tower as a refuge, she asks him to help her escape.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge, Thor: Love and Thunder, I Know What You Did Last Summer) write the most recent draft of the script for the film.

Gracey also directed Hugh Jackman’s The Greatest Showman, one of the highest grossing live-action musicals of all time.

Disney will never story remaking their animated films as live-action movies. Once they remake all of them, they’ll just start remaking them again. That’s just the circle of life over at Disney Studios.
