Disney Reportedly Cuts Ties With Scarlett Johansson and Her TOWER OF TERROR Movie Is Cancelled
When Scarlett Johansson sued Disney over Black Widow, claiming a breach of contract when they ended up releasing the film on Disney+, the actress’s relationship with the studio was obviously put into jeopardy.
Disney dismissed the suit saying that there’s no merit to Johansson’s claims, but her agents and attorneys believe otherwise, and they’re pressing forward.
According to a new report from Giant Freakin Robot, Disney is cutting all ties with Johansson and cancelling the film projects that they’ve set up with her. One of her biggest projects with Disney is the Tower of Terror film that was announced a couple of months ago. She was set to star in and produce the movie.
Tower of Terror was also being developed by Toy Story 4 director and Inside Out scribe Josh Cooley. Apparently, there were other projects as well that were quietly in the works for Johansson as Disney as well. But if this news is true, those won’t be moving forward either.
This was bound to happen. You can’t go after Disney and not face the consequences. Even if Johansson is in the right, this is the kind of feud that breaks relationships. In this instance, I don’t blame Disney. I wouldn’t want to work with something who was suing me either!
