Disney Will Not Include Any STAR WARS Films From Before 2019 to Their Streaming Service

Disney is preparing to launch their streaming service by the end of 2019. With that, they’ve started making things clearer about what content will be available on it, including the Marvel films which Disney will stop putting on Netflix after Ant-Man and the Wasp. Many fans are expecting to be able to watch the Star Wars films on the service, but it looks like that’s not going to happen. At least not for a while.

The marketing will make clear that it’s not going to be on there. But ‘Star Wars’ movies that come out in 2019 and later, you’ll find them there.

It appears Disney is struggling to get the rights back to the Star Wars films for TV and streaming because their streaming service will not include any Star Wars movies that came out before 2019. I’m sure that this will change around 2024 when Disney gets the streaming rights back though. Of course, CEO Bob Iger has said that with a lack of content, Disney’s streaming platform will probably cost less than Netflix. At least they’re not being completely greedy.
