Doctor Doom’s Mysterious Latverian Witches Take Center Stage in New AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Art
Doctor Doom has some mysterious company in Avengers: Doomsday, and Marvel still isn’t telling us who’s hiding behind those masks.
New artwork for Avengers: Doomsday puts Victor Von Doom and the so-called Latverian Witches front and center, offering another look at three strange figures who appear to have an important connection to the ruler of Latveria. Their identities remain secret, but Marvel is giving fans plenty to speculate about.
The artwork shows Doom standing at the bottom of a long staircase wearing his classic metallic mask and dark cape. Floating above him are three hooded figures dressed in robes, armor, and silver full-face masks modeled after Doom’s own look.
Across the image is a fitting declaration: “DOOM HAS NO RIVALS.”
It’s an interesting visual, but the bigger question is who exactly these Latverian Witches are and what role they’ll play in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel previously showed off the Latverian Witches’ costumes at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. A single mannequin was used to cycle through three versions of the outfit in deep green, burnt orange, and violet. On the final day of the convention, the display disappeared and a massive Doctor Doom statue took its place.
With this new artwork, the connection between the witches and Doom looks even stronger. Their robes, armor, metallic masks, and overall design all carry his unmistakable aesthetic.
It also raises the possibility that Avengers: Doomsday will spend some meaningful time exploring Doom’s relationship with magic, Latverian traditions, and his position as the nation’s sovereign ruler.
Of course, Marvel fans already have theories about the identities of the three women. Names being tossed around include Wanda Maximoff, Clea, Sylvie, and Cynthia von Doom.
Any combination of those characters would have major implications for the movie, particularly if Doom has somehow brought established MCU magic users under his control or into his inner circle.
For now, though, those ideas remain pure speculation. Marvel has only confirmed the existence of the coven and its connection to Latveria.
That mystery makes the Latverian Witches one of the more interesting elements surrounding Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel could have simply surrounded Doom with soldiers or Doombots. Instead, these masked magical figures keep appearing alongside him, suggesting there’s more to Doom’s world than armies, armor, and a really intimidating staircase.
