DOCTOR SLEEP Director Mike Flanagan Would Love To Make a STAR WARS Movie That Focuses on The Sith
Midnight Mass and Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan has said in the past that he wants to make a Star Wars horror film. Well, if that film ever got made, he would love to have the story revolve around The Sith, which makes complete sense for a horror movie.
A fan of the director reached out on Twitter, saying, "I'd love to see you tackle a Sith story.” This tweet was posted after the Obi-Wan Kenobi series trailer was released, which sees Flanagan's Doctor Sleep lead Ewan McGregor reprise his role.
Flanagan responded to the tweet, saying, "My god I would LOVE it.”
In response, another of Flanagan's followers suggested that if he ever had the opportunity to make a Star Wars movie, he should cast The Haunting of Bly Manor star, and self-proclaimed Star Wars fanatic, Rahul Kohli in a role.
"You could put [Rahul Kohli] into a Star Wars film to make things right in the universe," they said, to which Flanagan replied: "In a heartbeat." Another fan reached out saying Kate Siegel also has to be in it, with the filmmaker writing back: "Damn right."
I have no idea if Flanagan will ever get to make his Star Wars horror film, but regardless, he could come up with his own original sci-fi horror idea inspired by Star Wars and just do his own thing! It’s doesn’t have to be a Star Wars movie. Chances are, Lucasfilm won’t ever make a Star Wars horror movie anyway.
