DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Will Crack Open the Multiverse in the MCU
The future of the MCU is extremely exciting, and the upcoming fourth phase is going to give fans all sorts of big and crazy changes. One of my most anticipated films is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The events of WandaVision are going to tie into the film, and it will also have some major repercussions on the MCU. It looks like those repercussions will play a role in cracking open the Multiverse in the MCU.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently talked about the series at CCXP where he explained that the multiverse is the next step in the evolution of the MCU and that the Doctor Strange sequel will break it open:
"When we first started the MCU, it was all about Tony Stark. Introduce the world to Tony Stark and that Iron Man armor. Then [we] went on to teach people what Asgardians were and learn about super soldiers then bring them together in Avengers. I've always loved space movies and I've always loved big intergalactic tales, which is why we did Guardians and the audience came with us so we could do a movie like Endgame. I always wanted to do time travel, which we finally got to do in Endgame. The multiverse is the next step in the evolution of the MCU and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to crack it open in ways that will have repercussions for a Disney+ series before it that's not WandaVision and for movies after it in a big fun way."
That other Disney+ series he’s talking about might be Loki, as Feige previously revealed that the show would tie into this movie. We don’t know how exactly that will happen, but Marvel is definitely building to something big and the MCU will never be the same again because of it. I’m excited to see how this all plays out over the next few years!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 7, 2021.
