Dwayne Johnson Shows Off His Wicked BLACK ADAM Costume in New Set Photo From Reshoots
Dwayne Johnson has been back on the set of DC’s Black Adam doing reshoots for the film, and he shared a new photo from the production. That photo shows off features Johnson wearing his Black Adam costume and looking like a complete beast. It also looks like he’s staring into our souls.
The photo came with the following note:
Intense week of production continues as we put the finishing touches on BLACK ADAM⚡️
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing some great (fun) characters over the years, but none speak to my DNA more than this antihero known as the man in black, Teth Adam.
Rage against the dying of the light.
The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change.
It’s crazy that that suit he’s wearing is skin-tight. That’s 100% Dwayne Johnson, and he got in the best shape of his life for the role. Johnson previously talked about the costume, saying:
"These are the best costume-makers in the business, who have done all the most amazing costumes. They’re so talented. They come over to the house. I put it on. And I fucking hate this costume. Everything was padded. So they immediately start tearing and cutting and ripping. When I put that costume on the second time with no padding, just cut in a way where it was enhancing the work that I had put in – I felt..." He clicks his fingers and beams. "I’m Black Adam.”
"I wanted to come in not only in the best shape of my career, but also in the kind of shape that was befitting of an unstoppable supervillain who becomes an antihero. The easy version was I just continued on the same training regimen, not push myself, and find a Black Adam costume that covered my body up with some padded muscles in certain places, and no one will ever know. But I prefer to go the opposite way, and really come in in phenomenal shape and redesign a costume where I didn’t need padding."
Black Adam also stars Aldis Hodge (Underground, The Invisible Man), who plays Hawkman in the film; Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I Love Before, Charlie's Angels) as Atom Smasher; Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets, Euphoria) as Cyclone; and Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye, Mamma Mia!) as Doctor Fate, as well as Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest, The L Word), Marwan Kenzari (The Old Guard, Aladdin), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock), who have been cast in unspecified roles.
Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) is directing Black Adam, the most recent script was written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Adam Sztykiel wrote the previous draft.
Black Adam is set to hit theaters on October 21st, 2022.
