Dwayne Johnson Teases DC Cameos in BLACK ADAM and Shooting Will Start in 2019

Dwayne Johnson recently sat down with FilmStarts for an interview and it's was there he revealed that Black Adam could start shooting in early 2019. He also teased that some DC characters will appear in the film. When talking about when the film would start shooting, he said:

"With Black Adam I don’t think we’re going to start early next year. Early next year right now it looks like I’m going to be shooting Jumanji, and then after that if everything goes well I’ll shoot a movie called Red Notice with Rawson Thurber again, with Gal Gadot, and another actor yet to be named. But Black Adam possibly at the end of next year. It’s coming along great, the script is coming along great we’re very happy with it."

Johnson went on to tease that some other DC heroes may show up:

"Without giving anything away, there MIGHT be maybe a cameo or two of some of the other DC superheroes. We’ll see. That’s been the beauty of Black Adam as we’ve been developing it is that we could make a movie that just stood on its own too as well, but that’s also the beauty of those universes coming together at DC."

He doesn't say who will show up, but Shazam! and Superman seem like obvious choices. Who knows, though, if there are any cameos they could turn out to be a complete surprise. Black Adam was originally supposed to be a part of Shazam! but they ended up separating the projects. One day, I'm sure we'll see the two face off with each other, though.

The script for the film was written by Adam Sztykiel, who wrote Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Due Date, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. According to Johnson, the script is great and they're all excited about it. I hope the film turns out good! Johnson has been attached to play the character for nearly ten years! After all those years of being committed to a project, it better be good for his sake!

There's still no director attached to the film yet, but is there anyone you would like to see come on board to take it on?
