ENOLA HOLMES 3 Moves Forward with a New Director and it Will Tell a Darker Story

Enola Holmes 3 is in development at Netflix with Millie Bobby Brown returning and a director has been hired by the streaming service to bring the movie to life.

According to Deadline, Philip Barantini (Boiling Point) is set to direct the film, and there’s a chance that it will start shooting after Brown is finished with Stranger Things Season 5.

While there are no plot details to share for the third film, the report does say that Barantini's vision is a darker and older spin on the franchise, with sources indicating he pitched his take as similar to the impact The Prisoner of Azkaban had on the Harry Potter movies.

The Enola Holmes movies are based on mystery novel series by Nancy Springer, and they follow the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes.

Enola Holmes “tells the story of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’ rebellious teen sister Enola, a gifted super-sleuth in her own right who often outsmarts her brilliant siblings.

“When her mother mysteriously disappears on her 16th birthday, Enola seeks help from her older brothers. But soon realizing they’re less interested in solving the case than in packing her off to finishing school, Enola does the only thing a smart, resourceful and fearless young 1880s woman can do… she runs away to London to find her. Meeting a cast of memorable characters along the way.

“Enola’s caught in the middle of a conspiracy that could alter the course of political history. Enola Holmes puts a dynamic new female twist on the world’s greatest detective and his brilliant family.”

In the sequel, "Fresh off the triumph of solving her first case, Enola Holmes (Brown) follows in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock (Cavill), and opens her own agency – only to find that life as a female detective-for-hire isn't as easy as it seems.

“Resigned to accepting the cold realities of adulthood, she is about to close shop when a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job: to find her missing sister. But this case proves to be far more puzzling than expected, as Enola is thrown into a dangerous new world – from London's sinister factories and colorful music halls, to the highest echelons of society and 221B Baker Street itself.

“As the sparks of a deadly conspiracy ignite, Enola must call upon the help of friends – and Sherlock himself – to unravel her mystery. The game, it seems, has found its feet again!"

The Enola Holmes films have been decent. My girls love them, so they will be happy that the third one is moving forward.
