Ernie Hudson Says That "Everybody is In" For GHOSTBUSTERS 3

Ever since the big news broke that there was going to be another Ghostbusters sequel that would be set in the same universe as the first two original films, fans have wondered if we would see the original cast return.

According to franchise actor Ernie Hudson, they are. Hudson, who played ghostbuster Winston Zeddemore, revealed to Daily Mail that “he and co-stars Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray are on board with the project.” He said:

"Ivan Reitman is there and everybody is in. Now whether the studio will do it, I'm the guy who sits by the phone and waits for the ca. So if they call, I'll answer. If not, I've got other stuff that I'm doing."

My question is… if he hasn’t even officially received a call yet, then how does he know that everybody is in? Maybe he’s just making assumptions? But, we do know that Dan Aykroyd is a driving force behind the movie and that he’ll want to be in it.

So, with Hudson and Aykroyd on board, let’s hope that Bill Murray really is interested. He’s expressed in the past that he’s not interested in coming back as Venkman, but hell… he showed up in a throwaway cameo role in the disappointing remake. So maybe he will return for Ghostbusters 3!

As for Harold Ramis, he passed away in 2014 and when talking about Ramis, Hudson said:

"We miss Harold, because Harold was really the glue that I think held everybody together. He was always my go-to point and anything that was a little bit weird, or whatever, Harold was the guy who would sort of say, 'Ernie, just…' and explain the world to me. And I miss him, but his spirit is there."

He added:

"We've grown, we've learned and a lot of really new young talent that I'm sure they'd bring in to it. So it would be a lot of fun. I think it would only deepen. And we'll miss Harold."

Producer Ivan Reitman’s son Jason Reitman is developing the film and he will direct it. We also know that it will pass the torch to a younger generation of characters. It is rumored that these new characters will consist of two boys and two girls from the ages of 12 to 13.

The new Ghostbusters movie is slated to hit theaters in summer 2020. What do you all think of Hudson’s claim?
