Evan Peters Wants a QUICKSILVER X-Men Spinoff Film and Says X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Will Be Dark

Evan Peters' version of Quicksilver in the X-Men film is easily one of my favorite characters in the franchise. He's just such a fun and interesting character. I know a lot of fans enjoy him as well and if we ever saw Quicksilver get his own solo film, I bet it would be awesome!

During a recent interview with ET, Peters revealed that he "would love" to make a Quicksilver spinoff movie:

"I think that would be so fun. I love the special effects and the sequences and I love working with all those guys, so in one second I would do that."

If that's something the studio isn't thinking about yet, they definitely should be! There's so much potential with many of these mutant characters that could embark on their own adventures. Not everything needs to be a big team-up movie.

Quicksilver will next be seen in X-Men: Dark Pheonix and according to Peters that movie is going to be much darker than X-Men: Apocalypse. He explained:

"I think it’s the classic X-Men: First Class tone, where there’s a bit of humor thrown in there, but it’s much darker than the previous one, Apocalypse. Apocalypse was the ‘80s, so there was a lot of room for goofy stuff in there. This one is a much more serious film about the internal struggle of Phoenix and Jean, so it’s a dramatic film. There’s nothing very comedic about it, other than the few moments that are in there. I think it’s gonna be a powerful one. It’s Dark Phoenix. I think it’s gonna be darker than we’re used to. It’s gonna be a change, but it’s gonna be fun for everybody."

I'm really hoping for the best for this next X-Men film. We've seen a few photos, but I really don't know what to expect from it. I'm looking forward to seeing the first trailer so we can actually see what it will be like. When previously talking about how Quicksilver has changed for this movie, Peters said:

"He's definitely a little older and more mature, a little more subdued, sort of trying to make a, not a name but trying to do right by the X-Men and be a good guy and use his powers for good, so I think he's on that path at the moment."

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is said to be a grounded film that is loyal to the comics. The film is set in 1992, "roughly a decade after Apocalypse and finds the X-Men dealing with being heroes. An unfortunate side effect is how that fuels Charles Xavier's (James McAvoy) ego. He starts sending the team on more dangerous missions, including one to space that ends with Grey going to some very dark places."

Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn it into a Dark Phoenix. Mystique, Beast, Storm, Nightcrawler and the rest of the X-Men spring into action when a malevolent, power-hungry force threatens to overtake Jean Grey’s mind.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix also stars Michael Fassbender, Sophie TurnerJennifer LawrenceNicholas Hoult and Jessica Chastain. It opens on February 14, 2019.

Would you want to see Quicksilver get his own solo film?
