EVIL DEAD NOW Director Lee Cronin Comments on Giving Us a New Chapter in the EVIL DEAD Universe

Bruce Campbell recently announced that the next Evil Dead movie will be titled Evil Dead Now, and that it will be written and directed by Lee Cronin, who previously helmed the fantastic horror thriller The Hole In The Ground. Cronin recently commented on developing the next chapter in the Evil Dead franchise sharing on Twitter:

I guess the cat is outta the bag. Or, is Henrietta out of the fruit cellar? Touched by all the kind words and warm wishes. Thank you! Humbled to collaborate with the legends that are Sam Raimi, @robtapert and @GroovyBruce on a new chapter in the Evil Dead universe. #EvilDead

I really liked A Hole In The Ground, so I’m excited to see what he will end up bringing to the next story in the Evil Dead universe. When talking about the future of the franchise and the Evil Dead films that are coming, Campbell said:

“From this point forward, they kind of have to stand on their own. Which is fine. And liberating. You could have different heroes, different heroines in this case. This one’s gonna be a little more dynamic. We jut want to keep the series current. And the mantra, really, is that our heroes and heroines are just regular people. That’s what we’re going to continue.”

Campbell also previously confirmed that there are multiple Evil Dead films in the works, so it’ll be cool to see what kind of stories will be told and how they will play out.
