EVIL DEAD RISE Director Lee Cronin Sets Up His Next Horror Film Project THAW
Evil Dead Rise director Lee Cronin is teaming back up with New Line Cinema for his next horror film project titled Thaw. Cronin will not only direct but also rewrite the current draft of the script, which was developed by Jeremy Passmore.
The movie is set years after "the polar ice caps have melted and sea levels have risen, and the story “centers on a group of survivors at sea searching for a new home. Their prayers are answered with the discovery of an inhabitable town, that is, until they encounter a new nightmare living just below the water’s surface.”
So, that sounds like fun! New Line is obviously very happy with Cronin’s Evil Dead Rise movie and they want to stay in business with him. The filmmaker got his big break back in 2019 with a movie titled The Hole in the Ground, which was a great and creepy little horror movie.
If you haven’t watched that movie you should check it out! In the movie, one night, “Sarah's young son disappears into the woods behind their rural home. When he returns, he looks the same, but his behavior grows increasingly disturbing. Sarah begins to believe that the boy who returned may not be her son at all.”
Thaw will be produced by Van Toffler and David Gale of Gunpowder & Sky, as well as Adam Goldworm of Aperture.
