FALL 2: DEADPOINT Trailer Sends the Franchise 5,000 Feet Up for Another Palm-Sweating Nightmare
If the original Fall had you gripping the edge of your seat, the newly released trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint looks ready to crank that anxiety up to an entirely new level.
Instead of trapping its characters atop a towering structure, this sequel takes the terror to the cliffs of Thailand, where one wrong step means a long, deadly fall.
A new trailer has arrived, and if you're someone who gets uneasy looking over a balcony, you might want to brace yourself before hitting play.
This time around, the story follows Jax as she struggles to cope with the loss of her fearless sister, Hunter. Hoping to honor her memory, she embarks on a dangerous climb with Hunter's old friend. Things quickly spiral into a nightmare.
The official synopsis reads: “After losing her fearless sister Hunter, a deeply damaged Jax sets out on a dangerous climb with Hunter’s old friend to honor her memory.
“As they tightrope walk the perilous planks of Mount Kwan, a terrifying rockslide leaves them stranded 5,000 feet above ground. In the face of vertigo-inducing sequences, dark truths, and cruel twists, Jax must confront her deepest fears head-on to fight for survival and closure.”
Harriet Slater (Tarot) leads the cast alongside Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) and Tom Brittney (Greyhound).
Directing the sequel are Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, whose previous credits include Predestination and Jigsaw. The screenplay comes from original Fall writers Scott Mann, who also directed the first film, and Jonathan Frank.
The first Fall was one of those thrillers that caught a lot of people by surprise. It turned a simple fear of heights into an incredibly effective survival story that had audiences squirming in their seats. Even though you knew it was only a movie, every shot looking down from that impossible height felt painfully real.
As someone who's afraid of heights, these movies are almost unbearable in the best possible way. Just watching the trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint had my palms sweating.
The filmmakers seem to know exactly how to tap into that fear of looking down, and moving the action to the cliffs of Thailand makes everything feel even more dangerous. Between the narrow walkways, the massive drops, and what looks like another relentless fight for survival, this sequel looks like it could be every bit as intense as its predecessor.
The Fall franchise is already showing plenty of confidence in its future. Fall 3 has already been greenlit, with Mann returning to direct.
