FAST X Director Teases The Future of The Return of Franchise Characters
The Fast Saga is pretty much out of gas, but Fast X is the beginning of the end for the franchise. We are going to get two more films, and with those films comes the return of franchise characters from the past. If you saw Fast X, you know that it features a few surprises. According to director Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titans, The Incredible Hulk), the surprise appearances included in Fast X was just the beginning.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet, there are spoilers ahead:
During the marketing for Fast X, the studio managed to keep a few things secret including the return of Gal Gadot's Gisele showing up in a submarine to rescue Michelle Rodriguez's Letty and Charlize Theron's Cypher. Then there was Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs, who showed up in the post-credits scene. This was Hobbs's first Fast and Furious appearance since 2017's The Fate of the Furious.
While speaking with CB, Leterrier addressed the surprise returns in the film, and teased what’s coming, saying:
"The thing with this one is we're nearing the end. We've been very open about it that this is the end of the road and we're near the end. So there's no character that is not talked about or mentioned. Everybody in this franchise, literally, as you saw, is mentioned or seen. Just to tell you, that's just the beginning. You will see. That's all I have to say. You will see."
It will be fun to see to who they bring back for the final two films in the franchise, but this last movie wasn’t very good. It’s sad to think that this franchise might end on a low note for me. I know some fans are enjoying the latest installment, which is cool, but it was the roughest one yet for me to get through.
