Fede Alvarez's ALIEN Movie Will Start Shooting in February 2023
Director Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe) has been hard at work developing a new Alien movie and he’s pretty much ready to start shooting! According to ProductionList, the film will start shooting in Budapest, Hungary on February 6th, 2023, and the working title for the film is Alien: Romulus.
There are still no details on the story to share, but the film is said to tell a standalone story that is “unconnected” to the previous films. So, while the film will be set in the same universe as Alien and Aliens, it will be set in another corner of the universe. The pitch that Alvarez made is said to be a “really good story with a bunch of characters you haven’t seen before.”
This seems like the way to go for the Alien franchise at this point. This is basically going to attempt to reboot the film franchise, and I hope that Alvarez succeeds in making a good Alien movie that the fans will enjoy.
Ridley Scott is also attached to the project and is producing through his Scott Free production company. The movie is set to star Cailee Spaeny. Let’s see what happens with this!
