Final Trailer for DEVIL IN DISQUISE: JOHN WAYNE GACY Dives Into the Mind of One of America’s Most Terrifying Killers

The final trailer for Peacock’s upcoming true-crime limited series Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy just dropped, and it’s as disturbing as it is mesmerizing.

Based on the real-life crimes of one of America’s most horrifying serial killers, the new footage gives us a chilling look inside the twisted double life of John Wayne Gacy.

The trailer opens with Michael Chernus (Severance) as Gacy, eerily calm as he begins his confession. The resemblance, both in look and voice, is uncanny. From there, we see investigators begin to unravel the nightmare beneath Gacy’s suburban Chicago home.

But unlike the first trailer, this new one digs deeper into the killer’s fractured identity and disturbing psychology. As Chernus explains, “There’s really four Gacys. John the contractor, John the politician, John the clown. And then there’s the other guy.”

Set in Chicago, 1978, Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy explores how the seemingly friendly community man, who even dressed up as a clown to entertain sick children, was able to hide his true self while violating, torturing, and murdering at least thirty-three young men and boys.

According to Peacock, the series will also expose the systemic failures that allowed him to continue his crimes unchecked for years.

The eight-episode series features a strong supporting cast that includes Gabriel Luna (The Last of Us), James Badge Dale, Michael Angarano, Chris Sullivan, and Marin Ireland. The show was written and executive produced by Patrick Macmanus, who also serves as showrunner.

While this season focuses on Gacy, Devil in Disguise has already been renewed for a second season that will shift the spotlight to another notorious figure: Richard Ramirez, also known as The Night Stalker. Ramirez terrorized Southern California during the mid-1980s, and though he was convicted of 15 murders, the actual number of victims remains uncertain.

Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy looks like it will be a gripping, unsettling deep dive into one of the darkest chapters in American crime history.

Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy is now streaming on Peacock in the U.S.
