Final Trailer for X-MEN '97; Kevin Feige Had Two Conditions Before Making the Series
Marvel’s X-Men ‘97 makes its big debut today on Disney+! There’s one final trailer that been released to promote the series, and we also have some additional details regarding what Kevin Feige needed to have before moving forward with the series.
If you haven’t watched the first two episodes yet, if you’re a fan of the original series I think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised with how the show turned out.
As for what Feige needed before he gave the project the greenlight, producer Brad Winderbaum shared that there were two conditions that needed to be met before he signed off on X-Men ‘97. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said:
"Following the success of What If…?, when we were able to make more animated shows, [X-Men ’97] was my first idea out of the box. And Kevin [Feige] was like, 'Alright, if we can get the [original] cast and we can get the song, let’s do it.' And fortunately, we were able to do that."
Now, all these years later, here we are! The series has arrived and I’m curious to see what the fan’s reactions are to it.
The revival revisits “the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.”
The series brings back the original voice cast including Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.
Beau DeMayo developed the series as the head writer and executive producer, but he was recently fired from the show. Jake Castorena is the supervising director and Charley Feldman is the supervising producer. X-Men '97 will debut on Disney+ sometime in 2024.
It's almost time.
