First AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Trailer Confirmed To Premiere With AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH Next Month

Marvel fans, get ready, Marvel Studios is officially kicking off the next big chapter of the MCU soon. The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is confirmed to debut in theaters ahead of Avatar: Fire and Ash when it hits screens on December 19.

According to Collider, multiple sources have verified that the Doomsday trailer will premiere alongside the highly anticipated Avatar sequel, and if that’s not exciting enough, reliable insider @Cryptic4KQual has hinted that some lucky fans might even catch a sneak peek of footage before it officially drops.

It’s still unclear whether Marvel Studios plans to release the trailer online at the same time, but they’d be smart to do so. With hype for this movie through the roof, bootleg versions of the teaser are almost guaranteed to circulate within minutes of hitting theaters.

Details about what’s actually shown in the trailer are being kept under wraps, but word is that Marvel has “multiple different versions” of it ready to go, possibly to help keep surprises intact.

Here’s where it gets interesting… one version reportedly includes Chris Evans as Steve Rogers and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. The pair supposedly appear out of costume, hinting at a more emotional or flashback-driven moment.

While their returns haven’t been confirmed by the studio, few would be shocked to see them back in some capacity. Still, including them in the first teaser would be a bold move.

Then there’s what we’ve heard about Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Sources suggest he’ll have a major presence in the trailer and that his portrayal carries a “classic Universal Monster vibe.” That’s a fascinating direction for the character, and if true, it could set the tone for a dark, and atmospheric chapter in the MCU.

Both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars recently faced delays, with Doomsday slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027.

With the Russo Bros. steering the ship again and Robert Downey Jr. stepping into a brand-new role, Avengers: Doomsday might just be the most ambitious MCU project yet.
