First Clip PSYCHO KILLER Teases SE7EN Writer Andrew Kevin Walker’s Twisted New Horror Film

Horror fans have been keeping a close eye on Psycho Killer ever since the first trailer landed last October. The film marks the return of Andrew Kevin Walker, the writer of Se7en, to serial killer territory, and now 20th Century Studios has released the first official clip. This time, we’re not chasing the killer. We’re inside his head.

The newly released footage unfolds from the perspective of the murderer himself, a figure the media has branded the Satanic Slasher. The camera adopts his point of view as he stalks and waits, letting the audience sit in that uncomfortable space with him. It’s an unsettling setup that feels designed to make your skin crawl.

The story centers on a Kansas highway patrol officer played by Georgina Campbell, who horror fans will recognize from Barbarian. After her husband is brutally murdered, she goes on a relentless search for the man responsible. What begins as a pursuit for justice quickly spirals into something much darker.

Her target is portrayed by former professional wrestler James Preston Rogers, who steps into the role of a sadistic serial killer whose crimes go far beyond what anyone initially suspects. As the investigation unfolds, the true scope of his psychological damage and sinister motivations starts to surface, and it isn’t pretty.

The film is directed by Gavin Polone, making his feature directorial debut. The cast also includes Grace Dove, Logan Miller, and horror icon Malcolm McDowell.

Getting Psycho Killer made wasn’t a quick or easy journey. The script actually dates back to 2009. At one point, Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst was attached to direct. When Durst stepped away, Eli Roth came on board as a producer alongside Eric Newman, but that version also fell apart.

After years of shifting talent and stalled development, Polone finally pushed the project across the finish line.

The movie hits theaters on February 20, and it’s arriving with a hard R rating for "strong bloody violence, strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use and language."

With its killer POV angle, revenge-driven narrative, and pedigree that traces back to the writer of Se7en, Psycho Killer looks ready to dive straight into the darkest corners of the human mind.
