First Impressive Look at an AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER Fan Film Featuring Yoshi Sudarso as Zuko
I recently shared a tweet from Yoshi Sudarso that showed him with scarring eerily similar to Prince Zuko’s from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I had no idea what the heck was going on. Had he been cast in Netflix’s live-action adaptation? Was he working on a fan project? Did he just want to make a killer cosplay?
It turns out that it was the second idea. Sudarso seems to have teamed up with Re:Anime who specialize in making live-action adaptations of anime. It appears that they’re working on a live-action version of the fight between Azula and Zuko/Katara.
Yasmin Kassim will portray Katara, Nikki SooHoo will be Azula, and Sudarso will be Zuko. Josh Mabie is serving as director. A teaser is planned to drop at the end of the week, but in the mean time check out some pictures from Re:Anime’s Instagram feed!
CEO of Re:Anime, Nik Shaw, has mentioned that their intent with this short film is to prove to Netflix that they are the right production company for the job. What say you?
