First Critic Reactions to BLUE BEETLE Surface and It's Getting Some Positive Buzz!

The first critic reactions to DC Studios’ Blue Beetle movie have surfaced on social media, and for the most part, there’s a lot of good positive buzz! I’ve been saying that the movie looks like it’ll be a lot of fun, and judging from what people are saying, it’s going to deliver some solid entertainment!

Now, I will say, The Flash also got a ton of positive buzz before it was released, and that that didn’t really help it at the box office. The big test will be if people and fans actually go to theaters to watch the movie when it’s released. One of the big things Blue Beetle has going for it that The Flash didn’t, is there’s no controversy like Ezra Miller surrounding Blue Beetle.

We’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves if the movie is good, in the meantime, read the reviews!

#BlueBeetle is my favorite post-Nolan DC film.

Blue Beetle entertained me far more than I thought it would. It gives off Iron Man feels and delivers a down to Earth & intimate story about family & moral values. Susan Sarandon is the comic book villain I did not know I needed. George Lopez is hilarious!

The #BlueBeetle movie is mostly a blast.

Some is too silly or childish for me, a lot had me laughing loud (George Lopez!). Practical suit rocks. The Latino representation is awesome.

Blue Beetle was directed by Angel Manuel Soto (Charm City Kings) from a screenplay adapted by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Miss Bala). The movie stars Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai) as Reyes; Bruna Marquezine as Penny, the female lead and love interest; Belissa Escobedo as Jamie’s younger sister, Milagros; as well as Harvey Guillén; and Susan Sarandon as the villain, Victoria Kord.

In the film, “Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.”

The movie is set to be released only in theaters on August 18, 2023.
