First Look at Christopher Nolan's THE ODYSSEY Featuring Matt Damon as Odysseus
This is our first look at Christopher Nolan’s next film project The Odyssey, and it features Matt Damon as Odysseus.
He's wearing a cape, gauntlets, and plumed helmet, looking over one shoulder. He looks ready to embark on an epic journey.
The film is described as a “mythic action epic shot across the world.” The story will follow Odysseus’s perilous journey home after the Trojan War, introducing audiences to legendary characters from Greek mythology like the cyclops Polyphemus, the sea god Poseidon, and the enchantress Calypso.
The cast also includes Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Samantha Morton, Himesh Patel and Jon Bernthal.
The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
