First Look at Lily Munster's Werewolf Brother in Rob Zombie's THE MUNSTERS
Rob Zombie has shared a new photo from his upcoming film adaptation of The Munsters , and this image features Lily Munster’s werewolf brother, Lester. The character is being played by 3 from Hell actor Tomas Boykin. The image came with the following note:
CASTING NEWS! Straight from the set of THE MUNSTERS in beautiful downtown Budapest I give Lily’s werewolf brother LESTER as played by TOMAS BOYKIN. I am sure many of you may recognize Tomas from his appearance in 3 From Hell as Derek Zoom, a vocal Spaulding supporter. Get ready for Lester. He’s gonna make you howl with laughter.
The film follows a family of benign monsters who relocate from Transylvania to the American suburbs. The cast includes Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Dan Roebuck as Grandpa Munster, Doctor Who and Hobbit actor Sylvester McCoy, who is playing Igor, "the faithful servant of the family,” Dee Wallace, and Elvira actress Cassandra Peterson as a real estate agent.
When previously talking about the film, Roebuck said, "I really hope audiences walk away feeling entertained and laughing. That's all we really hope for making any movie, well, unless it's a drama. If all goes well and people really like, maybe we'll get the chance to do it again. I just hope people realize that they'll have a whole new version of The Munsters that can live and co-exist side-by-side with the original version of The Munsters. No one wants to replace it, we all love it so much. We just want to shine a spotlight on it with our approach which I think is the best way to look at it."
The movie is set up at Universal Studios’ 1440 Entertainment division, and it will likely go directly to streaming. No release date has been set yet for the film.
