First Look at Lumiere, Cogsworth, Le Fou, and Gaston in Disney's Live-Action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
After the film's teaser trailer took the internet by storm a few months ago, some new photos from Bill Condon's live-action take on Beauty and the Beast have made their way onto the internet. Erik Davis from Fandango noticed that someone had shared a couple of images from the new movie on Twitter, including what appears to be our first look at Ewan McGregor's Lumiere and Ian McKellen's Cogsworth:
That same user shared another photo, which seems to be from the live-action film's reimagining of the famous tavern scene in which the characters sing "Gaston." That shot includes our first look at Luke Evans in costume as that character (his back is to us, but that hair is bitchin') and we even get a glimpse of Josh Gad's Le Fou over his shoulder.
Davis tweeted that photo with some more information, which I'm admittedly not 100% sure is genuine, but sounds and looks legit (click to enlarge):
The pertinent information there is that this shot comes from b-roll from a "sneak peek" at the new movie that will be a part of the 25th anniversary release of the 1991 animated movie that comes out next month. So it sounds like we can expect to see more from the new film at that point. Thanks to /Film for the heads up on all of this.
Beauty and the Beast arrives on March 17, 2017.
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
