First Look at Scarlett Johansson in JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH and Story Details Revealed
Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have confirmed that the official title for the new Jurassic World movie is Jurassic World: Rebirth, which was previously reported.
They also shared a couple of photos from the film, which is currently shooting. They feature Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali in various situations.
The story for Jurassic World: Rebirth sees “an intrepid team racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea, and air. Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.
“Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”
Johansson plays Zora Bennett, “a skilled covert operations expert contracted to lead a team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs.
“When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.”
Bailey takes on the role of paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, with Ali playing Zora’s most trusted team leader, Duncan Kincaid. The cast also includes Rupert Friend as Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family.
Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is directing from a script by original Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp.
The movie is set to open in theaters on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
